Sam & Troy of the D.C. area of the won 2 of 3 games in the Preliminary Rounds, they then swept through the "Sweet 16" Playoffs to take the 2005 Las Vegas Early Bird Special Championship. Sam & Troy had a tremendous weekend. They also won the 2005 National Championship of Bid Whist which was held later in the evening.

The Early Bird Special Tournament was part of the Bicycle Playing Cards
 Las Vegas Bid Whist Weekend  held November 18-19, 2005.
